One day I would like to camp along the Northern California Coast and visit one place in particular – Glass Beach near Fort Bragg.

The problem I have … I may never want to leave. My husband will have to drag me away from finding the perfect piece .. pieces of sea glass!
We vacationed in Baja last summer at Rancho Leonero and during that week I found a jar full of beach glass along with some pieces of tile. I couldn’t stop looking! It was so fun to make some great finds!
One campground to think about is MacKerricher State Park – it has some great reviews on Yelp and one person in particular said – “Overall, a pleasant campground with a beautiful coastline. If you run out of things to do there, there are plenty of places nearby. In Fort Bragg, there is Glass Beach which is pretty neat. Also, if you’re a succulent nut like I am, there is a place called Simply Succulent in Fort Bragg as well. Just outside of Fort Bragg is Pointe Cabrillo which is a historic light station. Very cool. A little ways past Pointe Cabrillo is the quaint little town of Mendocino. It is by far the cutest place I have ever been. It has a bunch of unique little shops and rests on the coast overlooking the water. Definitely worth a visit.”

The actual Sea Glass Beach and “Glass Beach Dr” is by the town of Fort Bragg.

One day I will camp here and I’ll post all of my pictures! If you’ve already been here, how was it? Did you come home with an RV load of Sea Glass?

Hi Karen, I too one day would love to visit glass beach. One day sooner than later. I have lived in Southern California my whole life and have never been past Carpenteria/Santa Barbara.
Thanks for sharing about Fort Bragg and Glass Beach!!!
Hi Karen, I was there to attend a wedding at Fort Bragg in 2015. Well I almost missed the ceremony on a nearby beach because I kept saying just a few more minutes and I’ll leave….. Well good news I did make it back in time for the ceremony, BUT beach glass hunting at MacKerricher State Beach is a dream day you never want to end. You must go and make it a girl-trip cause most men don’t understand the obsession but a good girlfriend will.
Thanks CCCaliGal!
I want to go back some day for sure!!! My husband was actually really into finding the blues! I don’t think we went to the right cove that has a ton tho … next time!!! Glad you had fun there and made the wedding!! ha ha Karen
