– Refugio State Beach is located in Central California just north of Santa Barbara. It is one of my favorite places to camp. There is a sheltered cove, large grass area, nice sandy beach. This is an information page with photos, maps, brochures and more.

Refugio State Beach is located just north of Santa Barbara and El Capitan State Beach. It is a beautiful cove that you can shore fish, kayak, play in, lots of fun in this small state beach. There are no local stores, so come prepared. At times there is a camping store and you can visit the store at El Capitan State Beach, but other than those two you will have to drive about 1/2 hour to a market.
